Love Shows Up: Timely Support for a Family in Need

On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, WARM Executive Director Chad Maxeiner received a text  from a partner organization asking a heartfelt question: Did WARM have any resources left to help a family in need of Christmas gifts?

The family was doing their very best. Two hardworking parents raising five children simply had nothing left for Christmas after paying their bills. They weren’t asking for much, just something for the children. Everywhere WARM Support Coach Kelli Welsheimer turned, the answer was the same. The WARM Christmas Adoption Program closed on November 14, and other partnering organizations had already exhausted their resources. It seemed that every door was shut.

But God wasn’t finished writing this story.

That very afternoon, a man walked into WARM and spoke with Receptionist Rebecca Kinnell. With no knowledge of the earlier conversation, he said he felt led to adopt a family for Christmas. Did anyone know of a family in need?

Coach Kelli immediately shared the story of this family still hoping for help. Without hesitation, the man said yes, eager to help. It was clear that God had already been preparing his heart.

When Coach Kelli contacted the mother, she shared a wish list that reflected humility and love. The requests focused on basic needs such as bedding, shoes, socks, clothing, and blankets. Each child’s list also included a few personal interests and a couple of modest wishes, such as toys or electronics. There was nothing listed for her or her husband, only a desire to bless their children.

The donor picked up the lists on Friday, December 19.

By Monday, December 22, the man returned with four large bags overflowing with gifts and wrapping paper. Before leaving, he quietly handed Coach Kelli a thick yellow 8x11 envelope for the parents. While the contents remained private, the blessing was undeniable.

When the mother arrived to pick up the gifts, she was overcome with gratitude. She wept. In a season that once felt heavy with worry, amazing hope and joy were restored. What seemed impossible had become a beautiful testimony of God’s faithfulness.

Today, this family is now connected with WARM. God’s blessings continue to flow through the generosity of His people. This story is a powerful reminder that even when resources run out, God never does. His timing is perfect, His provision is faithful, and His love often arrives right on time, wrapped in magnificent grace.
